3.1. Computation of unit load and warehouse capacities

As road transport operates in two shifts, we need to define the average intensity of cargo input:

where T=24 hours refers to the time of transport node operation.

Average intensity of the truck flows is calculated as:

where ql stands for load capacity of trucks, tons;

t refers to duration truck operation, hours.

Ratio of vehicle static load capacity utilization is defined as the relation of the actually transported cargo to the amount of cargo that could be transported (nominal load capacity of the vehicle):

where qa refers to the actually transported cargo per trip, tons.

The given ratio is supposed to be as close to 1 as possible. Consider the principle of maximum utilization of the load capacity of the vehicle in your conclusions.

Calculation the amount of boxes that can be loaded onto the pallet according to the assigned capacity of the pallet and its dimensions:
